Genesis 5:10 reads:
Then Enosh lived 815 years after he became the father of Kenan, and he had other sons and daughters.
The gematria of 815 brings up the Hebrew term שתיקה, sh’tiyqah, ‘silence’ and harks back to the previous verse concerning דומם, domom, the ‘still, silence’ within, through meditation. One multiple sums to 815 (5×163). Tarot Key 5 is The Hierophant and one Hebrew term מוסד אבן, masod abn, ‘foundation stone’, sums to 163. It should not take too much meditation to see the profound connections.
The first Theosophical Reduction of 815 reduces to 14. This is also the number of הדה, hadah, ‘to show the way, to direct.’
THE WAY, rooted from Seth and carried as a branch in Enosh, may be wonderfully illustrated in pictorial form by spelling out אנוש, enosh, with the Major Arcana Keys of the Tarot. This is the first time within the genealogies that this method will be demonstrated due to its simple clarity.
Letter Shin (ש) is Judgement, Key 20; letter Vau (ו) Hierophant, Key 5; Letter Nun (נ) is Death, Key 13; and letter Aleph (א) is The Fool, Key 0. These keys spell אנוש. The Key numbers sum to 38, but there is no Tarot Key 38, so our first Theosophic reduction is 3 + 8 giving 11. Key 11 is Justice, the pictorial symbol of universal equilibrium. When the aspirant recognizes the manifesation of the undeviating justice in all the circumstances of life, the universe and everything, it sees how self-consciousness formerly worked ‘against’ the One Life within (as it would, according to the line of Cain). At length, we realize our working was coordinated to being us home. And we see the WAY is utter dependence on Super-consciousness, the Christ Center (Tiphareth), by rendering all instruction to Self-consciousness through the ‘agency’ of the Sub-conscious. So from 11 we can make a second reduction, 1 + 1 giving 2, which Tarot Key is the High Priestess, Sub-consciousness personified.
If you own a Tarot pack, please lay out these keys in a row for yourself. If you are very familiar with all these picture symbols, especially if you have colored them yourself, then what is presented by the pictures will be far more intuitively informative than whatever could be put into words.
The clause “…and he had other sons and daughters,” repeated throughout the genealogy of Adam-Seth, means the same as first looked at under the article on Genesis 5:7. Wherever words, phrases or clauses are repeated in Scripture, they are relevant and important.
And now Kenan appears. Remember from the previous verse, that Enosh ‘lived’ 90 years before establishing the branch of Kenan. So the first root number associated with the branch of Kenan is 90. That leads directly to Hebrew letter Mem, because when spelled out מים, mim, sums to 90, and it means ‘waters’. Mem is also the letter of Key 12, The Hanged Man. 12 reduces to 3. Key 3 is the Empress, who pictures the generative side of subconscious in AIMA, the Pregnant Mother, bringing the seed into physical manifestation. 3 is, of course, the number of letter Gimel of the High Priestess Key, a pictorial of the waters of subconscious in the 3rd Sphere, Binah, as AMA and the Dark, Sterile Mother.
Bear with me here. ‘Waters’ is the Great Sea of invisible AIN SUPh AUR, the Limitless Light, of which the entire physical universe is composed. Our eastern brethren know this ‘substance’’ as AKASHA, the Memory matter of the Akashic Records. Thus is the Universal Memory attached to the 4th Sphere Gedulah, or Chesed. This is the Sphere of Jupiter’s influence; expansiveness. Enosh is the root of of the branch of Kenan; they both have personified the establishment of the second sphere of the Pillar of Mercy.
The 4th Sphere is closely akin the 9th, Yesod, in that the Foundation, the automatic consciousness or subconscious, is also the seat of “personal” memory besides the reproductive energies and other aspects of the subconscious.
Moreover, the 4th sphere is colored blue, the ‘traditional’ hue of the subconscious ‘water’ and the Moon. The 9th sphere is colored violet, the ‘traditional’ color of planet Jupiter. These traditionally associated colors are reversed on the Tree of Life to secretly illustrate the close kinship between the two spheres and planets. They are actually one within the ‘watery’ essence. Our ‘personal’ memory actually connects us with the Highest! Our deepest memories are primal and universal! Recall that the Jupiter Center and the Metal Tin are the Manipura Chakra of the Yogis; the ganglia of nerves called the Solar Plexus wherein are recorded all memories. We have within us memories of the entire invisible and physically visible universe from even before the first physical manifestations of the cosmos. The only problem with remembering The All is the accrued subconscious ‘dross’ blocking our perceptions. Hence the Alchemical processes designed by the Sages for us to work. Our first memory, however, must be the one that establishes us as ‘Sons of the Elohim’, which the sons of Cain cannot recall.
Now Genesis 5:11 reads:
So all the days of Enosh were 905 years, and he died.
Using 600 for the final form of Mem (ם) , השם, Ha-Shem, means ‘The Name,’ which refers to Tetragrammaton (יהוה). Also, number 905 has a multiple of (5×181). Here’s one hint: The Greek goddess Eirene, Είρήνή, sums to 181 from Greek Qabalah. Read up about her through Wikipedia and see where all this takes you in relation to everything presented thus far.
Try for yourself the various “uses of the Qabalists” with gematria, Theosophical Reduction, Theosophical Articulation and Theosophical Extension to explore 905. Conscientiously working these and the other tools is the best you could do for yourself, if you’re serious about Qabalah.
